Current studiotwentysix2 news

I have created a new t-shirt design for Threadless. My shirt will be voted on for the next seven days, and if it does well enough, it will go into production and I will get some cash dollars. So if you have a minute, please sign-up at Threadless and vote for my design — it would be much appreciated.

Voting has now ended.

I have posted two new research photography sets on the studiotwentysix2 flickr site. A set of 18th & 19th Century tombstone typography examples, and documentation of the 1938 type style / specimen book Letters and Lettering...

I will be teaching an introduction to typography class this semester, and as a reference point for examples and discussion, have created Good Type, Bad Type — where the best and worst of typography, mingle seamlessly. I encourage you to stop by and check it out, and if you would like to join or start a discussion, or have an outstanding example of good / bad typography to share — that's even better.

Good Type, Bad Type.

I'm working on a series of typographic-based posters. Click the link below for a preview:

Welcome to the brand spankin’ new studiotwentysix2 site — I hope you enjoy the new digs. If you experience any bugs, glitches, dead links or any other type of shenanigans, please send me an email letting me know.

For the time being, I will leave the old studiotwentysix2 site intact for anyone that may have bookmarked specific pages. The site can be accessed with the link below.

Over the past few weeks, I have given two interviews discussing my work, philosophy and process. The first is a radio interview that originally aired October, 4, on the NPR program titled Arts Focus, hosted by Larry Kensington. The interview discusses my solo exhibition at The Dayton Art Institute Museum (Quick Time audio format).

The second is an interview with Jason Behrends of What to Wear During an Orange Alert?
