I have to admit, I was downright giddy to learn that General Mills had released a line of retro cereal packaging — including the Lucky Charms box from my early days of Big Wheelin’, Wiffleball playin’ and Voltron watchin’.

Perhaps I’m just a purist and minimalist at heart, but this hand-drawn illustration is far superior to the gradient-ridden, 3-dimensional, computer-aided illustration of today’s packaging. I would compare and contrast, but I’d rather not stink-up a perfectly good post, just to demonstrate my point.
