The site has compiled a ranked listing of the most influential artists of 2006 (listed as dead, living or combined) from #1 through #75,000. Most artists have a profile/bio, list of museum and gallery exhibitions and also the galleries which represent their work.
The information provided by artfacts.net is phenomenal, and I can’t imagine the amount of blood, sweat and tears that went into compiling this research. It’s interesting to see how contemporaries such as Damien Hirst and Jeff Koons, (even Shepard Fairey and Ryan McGinness) stack up against Cézanne, Dali and Matisse.
